Who organizes the festival?
Zurich AI Festival is a flagship initiative by the ETH AI Center, Greater Zurich Area, the City of Zurich, the Canton of Zurich, and Zurich Tourism, and supported by leading partners from academia, industry, government, and the broader AI ecosystem.
Where does the festival take place?
Events are held at various locations across Zurich, including ETH Zurich, Innovation Park Dübendorf, FlexOffice venues, and many more. Details can be found on our programme page.
Is the festival open to everyone?
Yes! We offer a mix of free and paid events, though some are invite-only. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast, student, founder, or policy leader, there’s something for you.

VISA & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Do I need a visa to enter Switzerland?
Switzerland is part of the Schengen Area. Citizens from the EU, US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can enter visa-free for up to 90 days.
Can I get an official invitation letter?
Yes. We provide support letters for visa applications. After registration, please email sabine.mueller@greaterzuricharea.com with your request and travel details.
GETTING TO ZURICH
What’s the best airport to fly into?
Zurich Airport (ZRH) is Switzerland’s largest international airport, just 10 minutes from the city center by train or taxi.
Are there direct flights to Zurich?
Yes. Zurich is directly connected to over 200 cities worldwide, including major hubs like New York, San Francisco, London, Singapore, Dubai, and Tokyo.
How do I get from the airport to the city?

By train: 10 minutes to Zurich main station (Zürich HB), trains run every 5–10 minutes.

By taxi or Uber: ~15–20 minutes, CHF 40–60.

By tram: Line 10 runs directly from the airport to ETH Zurich and Zurich Oerlikon.

Where should I stay during the festival?
We recommend staying close to Zurich city center or Zurich Oerlikon for easy access to most venues.

Is public transportation easy to use?
Yes. Greater Zurich has one of the most efficient and punctual public transport systems in the world. Download the SBB or ZVV app to buy tickets and plan your routes.
